The Farmers Mutual Tornado, Cyclone and Windstorm Association of the Third Congressional District of Missouri, now know as Cameron Mutual Insurance Company, was established on March 29, 1892, to serve the needs of Missouri farmers.  By 1896 the Company had $3,766,428 insurance in force and has experienced steady growth throughout its 100 plus year history.

Cameron Country Mutual Insurance began serving the reinsurance needs of the Missouri Farm Mutuals in 1983, and later in 1984, Cameron Mutual Insurance Company became a general writing mutual insurance company.
