TRIA Information

On January 12, 2015, Congress modified the provisions of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA), as amended, and extended the Act to apply through December 31, 2020. This important Act allows the insurance marketplace to continue to provide coverage for losses in the unthinkable event an “Act of Terrorism” occurs on American soil or under other specified circumstances.

TRIA requires certain information be disclosed to policyholders with policies containing language addressing coverage for terrorism. Below are revised policy forms addressing terrorism coverages which incorporate the requirements which were passed into law on January 12th. These forms will be a part of each policy contract for all new business and renewals beginning January 1, 2015 and updated forms will be attached to your policy at renewal as indicated below beginning April 1, 2015.

Please contact your agent with any questions you may have regarding TRIA.
