If I am in an auto accident?

If you are involved in an auto accident, contact the police to file a report. You will want to obtain as much of the following information as possible:

  • Date and time of the accident
  • Accident location (street names and landmarks)
  • If other vehicles are involved, note the year, make, model and plate number of each of the other vehicle(s), and driver's name, address, and telephone number
  • Owner's name, address, and phone number (If not the driver)
  • Name of the insurance carrier for the other vehicle(s)
  • Policy number for the other vehicle(s)
  • Name and phone number of witnesses

If my vehicle or property has been stolen or vandalized?

It is important to report any of these situations to the police. It may be helpful to obtain a copy of the police report and send it to the Cameron claims professional assigned to handle your claim. You may present it to your agent, email it to claims@cameron-insurance.com or use the Report a Claim form to send a digital file. You may also fax any claims-related documents to 866-454-5059.

If my vehicle has been totaled?

If you are not retaining the title to your vehicle, it is important that you contact your agent to remove the vehicle from your policy. Cameron Mutual/National cannot automatically remove a vehicle from your policy, even if we have received the title for it. Only you and your agent can remove the vehicle and ensure you are no longer paying premium for a vehicle you no longer own.

If my home or business experiences damage from a covered cause of loss?

When your home or business experiences damage it is important to take all necessary steps to prevent continued damage. You should keep all receipts and invoices reflecting your expenses during this time and present them to Cameron for consideration at your first opportunity.

It is important to file your claim promptly so the Claims department can provide feedback with regard to coverage and directions for the handling of your loss. Contact your local Cameron agent or call 816-632-6511 and report your claim directly to our Home Office during normal business hours. If it is an after-hours emergency, please call 866-264-5595, or use the Report a Claim form to send electronically.

If my house is uninhabitable?

In the event that your home sustained a loss that required you to relocate temporarily, you should seek temporary housing and arrange for temporary repairs to be made in order to secure the property. You should promptly contact your local Cameron agent or call 816-632-6511 to report your claim directly to our Home Office during regular business hours. If it is an after-hours emergency, please call 866-264-5595.
